The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Karabük University hosted the “NarcoYouth Training” program, an event aimed at raising awareness among young people. Organized in cooperation with Karabük Province Police Department, the program addressed various dimensions of drug use at both individual and societal levels.

During the training, expert police officers delivered a comprehensive presentation on the types of narcotic substances, as well as their psychological, social, and physical harms, early symptoms, and risk indicators. Students were informed about how substance use affects not only the individual, but also their family, social environment, and society at large, and were guided on how to respond in risky situations.

The program also covered offenses related to narcotic and stimulant substances within the scope of the Turkish Penal Code, relevant legal sanctions, and the potential legal responsibilities young people may encounter. Real case examples and practical explanations were provided to emphasize the importance of legal awareness in such processes.

Another key topic of the event was the reporting system and digital notification applications designed to enable citizens to quickly inform authorities about suspicious situations. Participants were briefed on how these systems operate, when they should be used, and the confidentiality procedures involved in reporting.

Following the presentation, the program concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session that received strong participation from students. Attendees expressed that the event provided valuable awareness both academically and socially.

As the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, we will continue to organize similar training and awareness programs that contribute to raising consciousness among our students.
