Awards Presented at Türkiye’s Social Sciences Festival – Sosyalfest ’26
Sosyalfest ’26, Türkiye’s first national and international social sciences festival, concluded with an award ceremony and closing program held at Istanbul University’s Beyazıt Campus. Initiated under the leadership of Karabük University (KBÜ) and organized in collaboration with Istanbul University (İÜ), the festival attracted significant participation over the course of two days.
Research Assistant Rumeysa TEKE from our Faculty was awarded second place in the category titled “The Century of Türkiye in Science” with her project entitled “Biophilic Play Route: Natural Movement Pathway and Active Living Axis.” Evaluated by the jury as one of the distinguished projects of the festival, the study integrates nature-, movement-, and neuroscience-based approaches and aims to create healthier, more active, and interactive public spaces for children, elderly individuals, and all urban users.
Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Professor Muhittin KAPANŞAHİN, congratulated Research Assistant Rumeysa TEKE on this significant achievement and emphasized that the project represents a valuable example of the university’s vision for scientific production and its commitment to social contribution. We extend our congratulations to Research Assistant Rumeysa TEKE and wish her continued and increasing success in her academic studies and future projects.
