A Presentation on “Discrimination and Prejudice from the Perspective of Social Psychology” Held at Karabük University
The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Karabük University, which organizes the Social Activity Day every Wednesday, once again brought together academics, students, and guests for an engaging presentation this week.


This week’s event featured a presentation titled “Discrimination and Prejudice from the Perspective of Social Psychology.” The talk was delivered by Assist. Prof. Dr. İlknur TAYINMAK, faculty member of the Department of Psychology. Participants had the opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge about how prejudice and discrimination are addressed within the framework of social psychology theories, as well as the individual and social dimensions of these concepts.

During her presentation, Assist. Prof. Dr. İlknur TAYINMAK discussed research in social psychology on prejudice and discrimination, highlighting how prejudices emerge in interactions between individuals and groups. She also emphasized the role of social identity, group dynamics, and social interactions in the formation of prejudice.

Following the presentation, a Q&A session was held, where participants were able to ask questions and engage in an interactive discussion.

At the end of the event, the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Prof. Dr. Muhittin KAPANŞAHİN, presented a certificate of appreciation to Assist. Prof. Dr. İlknur TAYINMAK for her valuable contribution.
