Within the framework of the Wednesday Talks organized by the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Karabük University, a presentation titled “Symbols and Ideological Struggle: Anti-Communism in the Democrat Party Era” was delivered by Assist. Prof. Dr. Serhat SİPAHİ from the Department of History. The event was held at the Faculty with the participation of students and academic staff.

In his presentation, Assist. Prof. Dr. Serhat SİPAHİ examined the ideological dimensions of the Democrat Party period, focusing on the role of anti-communism in shaping political discourse and public perception. He emphasized how symbols, narratives, and representations were instrumentalized in constructing and disseminating ideological positions during this period.

The presentation further explored the interaction between political power, ideology, and society by analyzing the use of symbolic language in media, political rhetoric, and public life. In this context, the anti-communist discourse of the period was evaluated as a key component of broader ideological struggles in modern Turkish political history.

During the question-and-answer session, participants actively contributed by posing questions regarding ideological constructions, political symbolism, and historical interpretations. The academic exchange enabled the event to conclude in a productive and interactive atmosphere.

At the end of the program, a certificate of appreciation was presented to Assist. Prof. Dr. Serhat SİPAHİ by the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Prof. Dr. Muhittin KAPANŞAHİN, in recognition of his contribution.

The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Karabük University continues to host such events that enhance academic awareness in the fields of social sciences and humanities while contributing to the intellectual development of students.
