Academic General Assembly Meeting of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Convened with the Participation of Re

Professor Fatih Kırışık, Rector of Karabük University, attended the Academic General Assembly Meeting of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences for the Spring Semester of the 2025–2026 Academic Year and shared his evaluations regarding the University’s strategic objectives, academic performance, and future vision.
 

 
The meeting was attended by Rector Professor Fatih Kırışık, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Professor Muhittin KAPANŞAHİN, vice deans, department chairs, and faculty members. In his opening remarks, Dean Professor Muhittin KAPANŞAHİN provided an overview of the Faculty’s recent activities in the areas of education, research, social contribution, and quality assurance, while also highlighting its achievements and ongoing initiatives.
 

 
Addressing the academic staff, Rector Professor Fatih Kırışık shared his perspectives on the institutional development of Karabük University and outlined the University's future vision. He noted that the anniversary of the University's foundation would henceforth be commemorated annually on 29 May, emphasizing the significance of institutional memory and academic traditions for higher education institutions.
 

 
Professor Kırışık underlined that the University's young and dynamic structure provides important advantages in adapting to the rapidly changing global academic landscape. He stated that attaining the status of a research university remains one of Karabük University's primary strategic objectives. Referring to recent progress in academic publications, citation impact, research projects, and international visibility, he emphasized that expanding national and international collaborations would further strengthen the University's research capacity.
 

 
The Rector also addressed ongoing initiatives in the field of artificial intelligence, highlighting the University's investments in digital transformation and the establishment of graduate programs focused on artificial intelligence. He stressed the importance of integrating emerging technologies into academic research and scholarly production. Furthermore, he discussed the University's efforts in social innovation and reflected on the role of Sosyalfest in advancing Karabük University's mission of societal engagement and contribution.
 

 
During the meeting, faculty members exchanged views and offered recommendations concerning educational activities, research initiatives, quality assurance processes, and social impact projects carried out within the Faculty.
As part of the program, the FEDEK Accreditation Certificate was presented to the Department of Geography in recognition of its significant achievement in quality assurance and sustainable academic development.
 
 

 
In addition, commemorative plaques were awarded by Rector Professor Fatih Kırışık to Professor Türkan KODAL, Associate Professor Ayşe YILMAZ, Associate Professor Mustafa POLAT, Assistant Professor Hatice Esra MESCİOĞLU, and Assistant Professor Ghazal Mansoor Abdulkhaleq AL-SAKKAF in recognition of their successful academic promotions.
 

 
The meeting concluded with a productive exchange of ideas among participants, followed by a commemorative group photograph.
