Being, Consciousness, and the Sacred: A Philosophical Reading of the Phenomenon of Religion

As part of the Social Activity Day organized by the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Karabük University, Professor Mehmet Münir DEDEOĞLU, faculty member in the Department of Philosophy, delivered a presentation titled “Being, Consciousness, and the Sacred: A Philosophical Reading of the Phenomenon of Religion.”
 

 

 
In his presentation, Professor Mehmet Münir DEDEOĞLU approached the phenomenon of religion from a philosophical perspective within the framework of the concepts of being, consciousness, and sacredness. The program examined the historical and intellectual dimensions of humanity’s relationship with existence, while also discussing the effects of the religious phenomenon on individual consciousness, metaphysical thought, and the search for meaning.
 

 
The presentation additionally addressed the place of the concept of the sacred within different intellectual traditions and emphasized that religion should be understood not merely as a system of belief, but also as one of the fundamental elements of humanity’s effort to make sense of existence. The event, which attracted considerable interest from participants, concluded following a question-and-answer session.
