Application Deadlines for Students Wishing to Take Courses at Other Universities’ Summer Schools
Step 1: Once students have identified which universities offer the relevant courses they wish to take during the summer school, they will consult with their academic advisers via email to assess the suitability and equivalence of the course content.
Step 2: For courses deemed suitable by their academic adviser, students must submit an application to their Department Secretariat. (Application documents: Application form, ÖSYM Placement Certificate)
Step 3: Once the academic adviser has approved the applications, students may enrol on the relevant courses at the respective university.
IMPORTANT POINTS TO NOTE
*In order for a student to be deemed to have passed courses taken at another university’s summer school, they must achieve the minimum passing mark specified in the Karabük University Associate Degree, Undergraduate Education, Teaching and Examination Regulations.
*As per Article 12 of the Karabük University Summer School Guidelines: “In order to take courses from the summer school of another higher education institution, the courses the student wishes to enrol in must not be offered at the KBÜ summer school, and the minimum entry score for the relevant year of the department at the other higher education institution offering the summer programme must be (YKS, TYT, DGS, etc.). However, if no minimum entry score is available for the relevant year at the other higher education institution, the minimum entry scores from the most recent year shall be taken into account.” Applications must be made in accordance with this provision.
*The summer school marks of students who do not submit a written application to the relevant Department between 2 June and 1 August 2026 will not be taken into account.
*As stated in Article 8(b) of the Karabük University Summer School Guidelines, ‘Students are responsible for ensuring that their examination and course timetables do not clash (monitoring of which is the responsibility of the student for other higher education institutions and of the lecturer delivering the course at KBÜ) and provided that they do not exceed a total of 20 hours and take a maximum of 5 (five) courses, students may take summer school courses simultaneously from different higher education institutions.
*For students wishing to sit a single-course examination, the procedure set out in Article 10 of the Karabük University Summer School Guidelines shall apply.
