Presentation Titled “Open-Source Software” Held
Within the framework of the Wednesday Talks organized by the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Karabük University, a presentation titled “Open-Source Software” was delivered by Assist. Prof. Dr. Şafak BAYIR from the Department of Educational Sciences. The event was held at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences with the participation of students and academic staff.

In his presentation, Assist. Prof. Dr. Şafak BAYIR addressed the growing importance of open-source software as a model of production and knowledge sharing in the digital age. He emphasized that open-source systems not only offer technical flexibility and cost advantages but also foster collaboration, transparency, and collective innovation. The presentation also explored the role of open-source software in educational environments, highlighting its contributions to teaching and learning processes. In this context, contemporary applications, opportunities, and challenges associated with open-source technologies were evaluated from both pedagogical and technological perspectives.

During the question-and-answer session, participants actively contributed by raising questions regarding the usability, sustainability, and future potential of open-source systems. The academic exchange enabled the event to conclude in a productive and interactive atmosphere.

At the end of the program, a certificate of appreciation was presented to Assist. Prof. Dr. Şafak BAYIR by the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Prof. Dr. Muhittin KAPANŞAHİN, in recognition of his contribution.
