Geography Teaching
Until now, the primary job opportunities for geography graduates have been teaching. In recent years, the number of graduates working in private schools and course centers has also increased significantly. Our graduates can work as geography teachers in schools affiliated with the Ministry of National Education or in private schools, course centers, and other educational institutions. Our department students can take the courses within the scope of the Pedagogical Formation Program free of charge starting from the 3rd semester and complete their pedagogical training within their undergraduate education.

Courses taken during pedagogical training are reflected in the student's transcript and affect their overall weighted grade point average (GPA). Courses taken by students who started pedagogical training but left before completing it (those who graduated and requested their diplomas, those who abandoned the training program) are also shown on their transcripts.
Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Operator and Specialist
Geographic Information Systems (GIS) can be defined as hardware and software-supported information systems that collect, store, analyze, and visualize geographic data. GIS, with advanced support from spatial technology applications, offers researchers and students the opportunity to work together; it supports studies aimed at collecting geographically referenced data, preparing appropriate data models, analyzing them, visualizing the results, and sharing them.
Our students receive comprehensive training in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing (RS), fields whose use and importance are rapidly increasing today, over three years, thus enabling them to work in this field. Our department has a Geographic Information Systems and Remote Sensing Laboratory consisting of 60+1 high-performance computers. Graduates who take relevant courses during their undergraduate education can work in positions opened in this field in public institutions and organizations, municipalities, and private companies.
