A Presentation Titled “Global Energy Policies and Mineral Demand” Held at Karabük University
As part of the Wednesday Talks series organized by the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Karabük University, a presentation titled “Global Energy Policies and Mineral Demand” was delivered by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Muhammed ORAL of the Department of Geography. The event took place on Wednesday, 26 November 2025, at the Şehit Fırat Yılmaz ÇAKIROĞLU Conference Hall, with the participation of students and academic staff.

In his presentation, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Muhammed ORAL examined how the increasing global demand for energy shapes contemporary political and economic dynamics. He discussed the geographical distribution of energy resources, the strategic importance of mineral reserves, and the influence of resource competition on international relations. ORAL also highlighted how the global transition toward renewable energy is reshaping mineral demand, addressing the implications of this transformation for natural resource management and sustainable development.

The event continued with a productive Question-and-Answer session, during which participants engaged with current debates on global energy policy, mineral economics, and environmental impacts. Students and academics had the opportunity to further explore the topic through their questions and comments.


At the conclusion of the program, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Muhammed ORAL was presented with a Certificate of Appreciation by Prof. Dr. Muhittin KAPANŞAHİN, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, in recognition of his valuable contributions.
